Free Zombie Kindle Ebook ELECTRO THRALL SERIES by David Barker, This Friday and Saturday

This Friday and Saturday, Feb 10th and 11th, Book 1 of my Kindle ebook “Electro-Thrall Zombie Series” will be a free download from Amazon.  Book 1 is titled “If I Could Die Right Now, I’d Be Happy” and it’s easily the most fun I’ve ever had writing fiction.  Here’s the official description:

Auto mechanic Davey Axton had serious doubts about going to work for Doctor Karshton, zombie slave master, at his mountain compound high above the small town of Tusk, Oregon. What with four distinct types of zombies running around — some of them dangerous, some of them docile, according to Karshton’s “Unified Theory of Zombification” — it was all very confusing and more than a little risky. But it looked like taking the job might be the only way he could be near the one girl he really loved but could never, ever have.

This is the first installment of a series of short stories.

Just because I had fun with it and there is some humor and, yes, zombie lit is a trash genre (that’s the whole point), doesn’t mean I didn’t have serious literary intentions with it.  It may be the strongest story I’ve ever written in terms of the emotional depth of what the main character is experiencing.  I actually wept when I wrote the ending (so sad!) and wept again when I revised it.  Okay, so I’m a hopeless romantic.  But there are plenty of techie zombie details to keep the average nerd from getting bored.  To whet your appetite, here are the four basic forms of zombie, according to the possibly insane Doctor Karshton’s theory:

1. Electro-Thralls

2. Para-Thralls

3. Bio-Thralls

4. Chemo-Thralls

And, if you believe the gossip coming out of certain cutting edge labs, there may be a fifth form:

5. Mechano-Thralls

You can get this ebook and learn more by heading over to Amazon and searching the titles for “Electro-Thrall”

The regular price after the free promotion ends is 99 cents.
