David Barker’s “The Reality Hoax” UFO book is back in print (or e-print, anyway)

I just expanded the Kindle ebook edition of Scenarios of Alien Visitation, a book I first published in 1985, to include another short speculative work on the UFO phenomenon that I wrote that same year, titled The Reality Hoax. The expanded edition of Scenarios of Alien Visitation is only 99 cents on Amazon. I’m making the long out-of-print The Reality Hoax available again in anticipation of the forthcoming publication of Little Gray Bastards, a full length non-fiction book about alien abduction that I’ve co-written with Jordan Hofer. We just competed the manuscript and it’s now in our editor’s hands at Schiffer Publishing. Little Gray Bastards should be out in 2015. I want to create a Kindle edition of another of my early UFO publications, again from 1985, called Frank Scully and the Legend of the Crashed Saucer.

Below are images of the Kindle (blue cover) and original print (red cover) editions of Scenarios. The print edition is no longer available and that $2.00 cover price is what it cost back in 1985 — not a current price. Above those is an image of the 1985 print edition of The Reality Hoax, which was priced at $1.50 back then.  I only made about a dozen copies of The Reality Hoax which I distributed among friends and associates. Other than that small private edition, it has been unavailable for almost 30 years.

The official description of the expanded edition reads thus:

Scenarios of Alien Visitation

This speculative essay, first published in 1985, provides a wide range of possible explanations for the UFO phenomenon and the reported presence of aliens on Earth.

The essay is in the form of brief notes on many scenarios that, if found to be true, would answer the critical questions: Who are the UFO aliens? Where are they from? Why are they here? What do they want? This book poses many questions and suggests many possibilities, but it provides no definitive answers.

These scenarios are meant to stimulate further thinking about the UFO phenomenon. Some of the ideas presented are strange, even bizarre, and not likely to be found in a typical UFO book. This book will change your thinking about UFOs.

The Reality Hoax

This expanded edition of Scenarios of Alien Visitation includes a reprint of The Reality Hoax – a very rare UFO booklet written by David Barker. The Reality Hoax was first published in an extremely limited private edition of roughly a dozen copies in 1985 and has been unavailable since that time.

Like Scenarios of Alien Visitation, The Reality Hoax is a speculative work that poses several theories about the nature of aliens and UFOs. However, The Reality Hoax goes further than Scenarios of Alien Visitation did in that it examines the very nature of reality itself, and suggests that the deception being imposed upon humanity may run much deeper than mere slight of hand involving the still unexplained UFO phenomenon. This provocative essay will make you question everything about your existence.
